A Meat Industry in Sharjah, UAE is looking for a QHSE Assistant with the following:
Job Responsibilities
- HACCP and GMP Compliance:
Maintain and implement HACCP documentation, ensuring all quality and safety practices are followed in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures). - Quality Monitoring and Reporting:
Monitor and report daily quality-related activities to the Quality Manager, highlighting any deviations or improvements required. - Department KPIs:
Contribute to achieving departmental Key Performance Indicators by actively supporting continuous improvement initiatives. - Incoming and In-Process Material Inspection:
Conduct thorough inspection, sampling, measurement, and evaluation of all incoming raw materials, pre-mixes, in-process materials, packaging, and finished products such as sandwiches. - Traceability and FIFO Compliance:
Ensure proper documentation and tracking of batch numbers, production dates, expiry dates, FIFO (First In, First Out), and product traceability in compliance with internal quality standards. - Food Safety and Hygiene Compliance:
Maintain safety and hygiene protocols across the production facility in compliance with UAE food safety regulations and international standards.
- Import/Export Regulatory Compliance:
Verify that all imported and exported food items comply with the respective national and international food laws and halal certification requirements. - Non-Conformance Management:
Identify and report non-conformities in products and processes. Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure timely resolution and release of products for sales and distribution. - Quality Demerit Index:
Measure and report Quality Demerit Index (QDI) for daily operations, supporting proactive quality improvement. - Workplace Safety Observations:
Monitor and report unsafe working conditions, equipment malfunctions, and environmental hazards to ensure a safe working environment. - HACCP & ISO Prerequisite Programs:
Maintain and implement prerequisite programs for food safety systems including ISO 22000, HACCP, and internal audit requirements. - Customer Complaints Handling:
Assist in resolving customer complaints, including documentation, investigation, and implementation of corrective actions as directed by the Quality Manager.
- Sensory and Laboratory Support:
Participate in sensory evaluations and support laboratory testing activities as needed. - Additional Duties:
Perform other reasonable duties as assigned to support the Quality and HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) department.
Job Qualifications
- Experience:
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the food manufacturing industry, preferably in ready-to-eat or halal food production environments.
QHSE Assistant vacancy at a leading Meat Industry in Sharjah, UAE ; with
- Bachelor of Science(Food Technology, Microbiology), Master of Science(Food Technology, Microbiology)
- Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of real halal principles, food safety standards (HACCP, ISO 22000), and GMP compliance. - Software Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and reporting purposes. - Quality Assurance Skills:
Skilled in quality reporting, product evaluation, SOP adherence, and non-conformance management. - Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are mandatory. - Analytical Skills:
Ability to identify issues, analyze data, conduct sampling and measurements, and take follow-up actions based on quality outcomes.
