QC Incharge – Seafood Products, vacancy at a leading seafood processing Company in Kerala, India with the following:

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage all quality control operations for seafood processing, ensuring compliance with HACCP, ISO, and local food safety regulations.
  • Conduct routine and ad-hoc inspections on raw seafood materials, in-process products, and finished goods to verify freshness, texture, odor, and microbiological quality.
  • Perform quality tests using standard laboratory and sensory evaluation methods to ensure all seafood products meet internal and export quality specifications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspection results, non-conformities, corrective actions, and daily quality checklists in accordance with company SOPs.
  • Monitor and analyze key quality indicators (temperature logs, microbial counts, rejection rates, etc.) to ensure process efficiency and consistency.
  • Lead the QC team in implementing continuous improvement programs to enhance product quality, shelf life, and operational hygiene.
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, and maintenance teams to ensure that quality standards are met at every stage of processing.
  • Prepare and submit detailed quality performance reports, trend analyses, and audit summaries to senior management.
  • Conduct internal audits, participate in third-party audits, and ensure timely closure of all non-conformance reports.
  • Train and mentor QC staff on seafood handling practices, food safety procedures, and quality control methods to maintain team competency.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fisheries Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of proven experience in Quality Control within seafood processing, frozen foods, or aquaculture industries.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of HACCP principles, GMP, ISO 22000, and export quality standards.
    • Skilled in sensory evaluation, microbial testing, and seafood preservation techniques.
    • Proficient in using laboratory instruments and quality testing equipment.
  • Leadership Skills: Experience managing QC teams and implementing quality improvement initiatives.
  • Communication: Strong report writing, data analysis, and presentation skills.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to work in cold storage environments and flexible to handle shift-based work when required.
