Qatar Airways is looking for a Food Safety and Hygiene Officer for Doha, Qatar Location with the following :

Job Responsibilities

  • FSMS Maintenance & Improvement:
    • Periodically review all food safety procedures, SOPs, and instructions to ensure they are current and aligned with regulatory and operational requirements.
    • Lead and coordinate the review of proposed changes to FSMS procedures and work instructions, directing the Food Safety Team in implementing necessary updates.
    • Ensure that all documentation and certifications are maintained according to statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Leadership & Team Management:
    • Oversee the Food Safety Team of Qatar Airways, ensuring that all FSMS-related processes are fully implemented, monitored, and maintained.
    • Promote food safety awareness and customer requirements across departments and operational teams.
    • Mentor and train team members, driving performance goals and continuous improvement.
  • Hazard Analysis & Risk Management:
    • Conduct thorough hazard analysis and risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and control food safety hazards throughout the food supply chain.
    • Supervise and review product defect investigations and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Supplier Evaluation & Compliance:
    • Evaluate and monitor food safety systems of vendors and suppliers, ensuring their practices align with Qatar Airways standards.
    • Report on supplier compliance and address deviations through corrective actions.
  • Audits & Inspections:
    • Lead the internal food safety audit program of Qatar Airways by selecting qualified auditors, reviewing audit results, and ensuring the effective implementation of corrective actions.
    • Conduct self-inspections and ensure full compliance with QDF F&B food safety and hygiene standards.
Interview Q A – Food Safety
  • Hygiene & Sanitation:
    • Develop and manage robust Hygiene and Sanitation programs across all food processing and catering areas.
    • Ensure that all prerequisite programs (PRPs) are effectively implemented and periodically reviewed.
  • Training & Awareness:
    • Deliver quality training programs on GMP, HACCP, hygiene, food safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives and drive team awareness on emerging food safety issues and best practices.
  • Complaint Handling & Corrective Actions:
    • Manage food safety complaints by conducting root cause investigations, reviewing SOPs, and implementing corrective and preventive measures (CAPA).
  • Communication & Reporting:
    • Liaise cross-functionally with departments to resolve operational issues affecting food safety.
    • Present food safety performance reports, audit findings, and corrective actions during management review meetings.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / Vocational Qualification / Equivalent with at least 4 years of food safety experience,
    OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Microbiology, Public Health, or related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience managing food safety and hygiene within a commercial catering, airline catering, or hospitality environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety systems including HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, and local food regulatory compliance.
  • Proven experience in food safety auditing, internal audit programs, and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to lead, train, and develop team members in food safety best practices.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Ability to manage documentation, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines.

Qualifications – Qatar Airways

  • Diploma or Certification in Hygiene & Sanitation (Minimum Level 4).
  • Certified Lead Auditor in Food Safety (FSSC 22000 or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in airport catering, multi-unit food operations, or 5-star hotel/industrial catering settings.
  • Hands-on experience conducting self-inspections, managing product traceability, and overseeing allergen control systems.
