Starbucks in Ontario, Canada is hiring a Product safety and quality advisor with the following:

Job Responsibilities

  • Strong food safety and quality leadership in multiple manufacturing settings related to Beverage and/or Food (7 years of experience with ideally 2 years of experience in manufacturing environment)
  • Experience in product development (formula development/optimization) from concept inception, pilots through to scale up of beverage and/or food products, understanding of Canadian Food Regulations, knowledge of customs/tariffs.
  • Experience developing and implementing the product safety and quality aspects, including product sensory and process of product specifications (from assessment, development, commercialization through sustainment of product life cycle)

Progressive experience managing the review and development of GlobalGAP, GFSI GAP, and GFSI-based product safety and quality programs, including oversight of primary manufacturing, co-manufacturing, and grower-level process improvement and supplier management programs (4-7 years)

Experience working with 3rd party auditing to a GFSI, managing customer complaints from multiple sources, and analyzing leading and lagging performance indicators using SPC techniques – all with a focus on improving both product safety and quality outcomes and the customer experience

Extensive product safety and quality management system knowledge, including HACCP, 21CFR Regulations (e.g. parts 117, 113, etc.), GFSI program standards (typically BRC and SQF for most suppliers), and preferably international standards (e.g. CFIA, EU, etc.)

A broad-based thinker and effective collaborator – this role requires a partner who is agile, resilient and able to navigate multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
