Person In Charge (PIC) to oversee the daily canteen operations in assigned schools. The PIC will serve as the primary point of contact between the canteen, school management, parents, and internal departments. This role demands exceptional leadership, organizational skills, and a strong understanding of food safety and child protection protocols.

Responsibilities

Stakeholder Communication & Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary liaison between school management and the company for all canteen-related matters.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the Manager – School Operations (MSO) to address and resolve any operational or service-related issues.
  • Work closely with the Operations/Catering Manager to coordinate feedback and improvements.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for parents, addressing inquiries and resolving complaints promptly or escalating them to the appropriate departments (HR, Compliance, Accounts, Events, etc.).
  • Receive and follow up on event catering requests from schools, coordinate with Accounts for quotations, and oversee execution upon approval.

Sales, Inventory & Operations Oversight

  • Monitor daily sales performance and strive to meet or exceed set sales targets.
  • Prepare and share daily sales and inventory reports with the Accounts department.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with the Operations/Catering Manager to report on sales, wastage, stock concerns, and other operational issues.
  • Manage stock by placing and receiving weekly deliveries (packaging, snacks, cold beverages).
  • Oversee daily food orders, control wastage, and conduct monthly stock checks.

Team Supervision & HR Coordination

  • Supervise canteen staff, resolve internal conflicts, and ensure compliance with assigned duties.
  • Track and update staff attendance and absences regularly.
  • Interview, select, and onboard new staff for assigned schools.
  • Ensure that all employee documentation and staff files are up-to-date and maintained.
  • Conduct regular staff training, including POS handling, service quality, food safety, and child protection.

Food Safety & Compliance

  • Audit staff adherence to hygiene, inventory control, and child protection policies.
  • Inspect received food supplies for quality, freshness, and consistency with delivery notes.
  • Ensure all products displayed in the canteen are correctly labeled with production and expiry dates, nutritional information, and allergen details.
  • Uphold all safety and hygiene regulations in line with Abu Dhabi Municipality, school guidelines, and internal policies.
  • Maintain personal hygiene and enforce proper grooming standards across the team.

Customer Service & On-Site Assistance

  • Welcome students and school staff, introduce daily specials, respond to queries, and provide personalized recommendations.
  • Provide over-the-counter service during breakfast, recess, and lunch periods.
  • Gather and communicate customer feedback to improve service and suggest new menu items to the Operations Manager.

job Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the Food & Beverage industry (mandatory).
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience in school or catering operations.
  • GCC experience: Minimum of 1 year (preferably in UAE).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with UAE’s Municipality regulations and PIC training/certification is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with inventory systems, POS operations, and basic accounting procedures.
