Pharmaceutical Microbiologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the microbiological quality of our pharmaceutical products by performing routine and specialized testing. You will be responsible for maintaining laboratory compliance, contributing to qualification activities, and supporting overall GMP and GxP standards.

Job Resposnibilites- Pharmaceutical Microbiologist

  • Perform microbiological analyses and related laboratory tasks in accordance with SOPs and quality guidelines of the Pharmacy Industry
  • Independently conduct scheduled testing of raw materials, packaging materials, finished products, and environmental samples.
  • Execute microbial limit testing, total viable count (TVC), and identification of specified microorganisms in purified and potable water.
  • Carry out sterility tests and Bacterial Endotoxin Tests (BET) as per standard procedures.
  • Handle and maintain microbial cultures, including proper subculturing and storage.
  • Participate in qualification and validation of laboratory equipment, cleanrooms, and water systems.
  • Prepare culture media, perform sterilization, growth promotion testing, and ensure proper media disposal.
  • Sample and test water systems, compressed air, viable environmental monitoring, and personnel monitoring samples.
  • Maintain and update laboratory records for media, cultures, and consumables inventory.
  • Generate and analyze trend data for environmental monitoring and water quality assessments.
  • Report and assist in investigations of deviations, OOS (Out of Specification), and OOT (Out of Trend) results.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant documentation practices in line with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Contribute to internal and external audits and ensure closure of CAPAs and other quality system documentation.
  • Adhere to GxP and data integrity standards throughout all laboratory operations.
  • Follow safety protocols and use appropriate PPE while handling hazardous materials.
  • Promote and ensure compliance with company EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) policies.

Job Qualifications -Pharmaceutical Microbiologist

  • Well-versed in handling microbiological equipment and hazardous substances safely.
  • Education: Master’s Degree in Microbiology.
  • Experience: 6 to 8 years of hands-on experience in a pharmaceutical microbiology laboratory, preferably within a regulated GMP/GxP environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in Pharmaceutical Microbiology.
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Good verbal and written communication.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
