Pepsico is hiring a Quality Assurance Specialist for Leicester, United Kingdom with the following:

Job Responsibilites

  • Project Leadership & Execution:
    Lead and manage multiple complex food safety and culinary projects across events, ensuring delivery within scope, timeline, budget, and quality expectations using robust technical project management tools and methodologies of Pepsico.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to understand customer needs, operational feasibility, ingredient sourcing, and culinary trends to propose viable, safe, and innovative food solutions.
  • Food Safety Compliance:
    Establish, align, and enforce the use of Food Safety Playbooks for all events and operations. Ensure procedures are consistently followed to protect consumer health and brand reputation.
  • Governance and Risk Management:
    Apply technical and business governance frameworks effectively from project feasibility to post-launch, ensuring all solutions are compliant, scalable, and sustainable.
  • Independent Project Ownership:
    Drive assigned projects with autonomy, seeking guidance from leadership only as needed and escalating potential risks or issues in a timely manner.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving internal processes, sharing best practices, and enhancing team performance through knowledge-sharing and capability-building efforts.
  • Cross-Functional Advocacy:
    Represent FSQA (Food Safety and Quality Assurance) perspectives in cross-functional meetings and work collaboratively with R&D, Product Development, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, and Culinary Innovation teams.
  • Regulatory and Allergen Compliance:
    Ensure all food offerings meet allergen labeling requirements and local food regulations. Lead efforts to complete mystery shopper evaluations and compliance checks at all events.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    A bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience:
    Minimum 5 years of experience in quick-service restaurants, culinary operations, or R&D roles within foodservice or hospitality industries.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    Solid foundation in food safety regulations and best practices, culinary techniques, ingredient functionality, nutrition science, and food trends integration into product development.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into action.
    • Highly detail-oriented with a drive for excellence and continuous process improvement.
    • Effective collaborator and communicator with cross-functional stakeholders including R&D, Marketing, Operations, Quality, and Regulatory.
    • Innovative thinker with a track record of generating creative, practical culinary and safety solutions.
    • Self-motivated and results-driven with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
    • Demonstrates integrity in safeguarding proprietary information, recipes, and formulations.
