A leading consulting and engineering company in Dubai UAE is looking for an Occupational Health Advisor with the following:

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate employees’ fitness to-work assessments, including pre-employment medical evaluations and ongoing health monitoring for the MEAC region.
  • Review patient results for fitness to work approvals and refer to specialists as needed for Occupational Health Advisor.
  • Serve as the primary contact with international and local insurance providers for medical emergency notifications, coordination, and follow-up.
  • Support the implementation of Wood’s occupational health strategy, ensuring alignment with occupational health standards and HSE policies.

  • Conduct and oversee occupational health risk assessments to identify key health risks, training others in the assessment process.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaria prevention programs in malaria-prone areas and monitor the program’s adherence, reporting results to management.
  • Ensure necessary vaccinations and health advice are provided prior to employee mobilization.
  • Oversee the performance of medical providers and act as a liaison between providers and stakeholders.
  • Report and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous health improvements across the MEAC region.

  • Assist HR with sickness absence case management and return-to-work assessments.
  • Provide technical support to ensure compliance with occupational health obligations and HSSE policies.
  • Identify, understand, and communicate occupational health legal, industrial, and contractual obligations within MEAC.
  • Assist in developing and delivering occupational health awareness and training on key risks.

  • Collaborate with assurance teams to include occupational health factors in audits and inspections.
  • Offer technical occupational health services related to surveillance, rehabilitation, and travel health.
  • Investigate occupational health incidents, identify trends, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Work with legal teams to address occupational health regulatory issues and investigations.

  • Drive health awareness campaigns, focusing on both physical and mental health, based on identified risks and trends.
  • Implement and monitor occupational health performance indicators, providing reports to management and support teams.
  • Ensure the highest standards of data protection are maintained for employees and others.

Job Qualifications:

  • Occupational Health-related degree or equivalent professional qualification (essential).
  • Membership of an Occupational Health professional body (desirable).
  • Practical skills in occupational health, including surveillance and medical assessments.
  • Experience in developing and authoring OH management processes and procedures.
  • Excellent technical report writing skills.
  • Ability to collate and interpret occupational health performance data.
  • Strong understanding of occupational health and data protection laws and governance.
