Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Microbiology, providing in-depth technical knowledge and academic or industry-oriented guidance.
  • Design, develop, and deliver microbiology training programs, workshops, and presentations for students, laboratory professionals, and industry personnel.
  • Conduct classroom, virtual, and practical training sessions covering areas such as food microbiology, clinical microbiology, environmental microbiology, and industrial microbiology.
  • Prepare and update training materials, presentations, SOPs, manuals, and assessment tools aligned with current scientific and regulatory standards.
  • Deliver effective presentations and lectures, ensuring complex microbiological concepts are explained clearly and engagingly.
  • Guide learners on microbial testing techniques, sample handling, culture methods, staining, microbial identification, and interpretation of results.
  • Support laboratories and organizations in implementing good laboratory practices (GLP) and basic quality systems.
  • Assist in method validation, documentation, and laboratory compliance activities, where applicable.
  • Stay updated with advances in microbiological methods, technologies, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate as a trainer, speaker, or presenter in seminars, webinars, and academic or industry events.
  • Contribute to the creation of technical content, articles, training modules, and educational resources related to microbiology.
  • Maintain accurate training records, reports, participant feedback, and evaluation results.
  • Collaborate with academic institutions, laboratories, and internal teams to ensure effective knowledge transfer.

Job Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology, Medical Microbiology, Food Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related life sciences discipline.
  • Proven experience as a Microbiology Professional, Trainer, Lecturer, or Subject Matter Expert.
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of microbiological principles and laboratory techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify and explain scientific concepts clearly.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills, with confidence in delivering training sessions to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated training and facilitation skills in both classroom and online learning environments.
  • Hands-on experience with microbial culture, staining, biochemical tests, and laboratory instrumentation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of GLP, biosafety practices, and laboratory quality standards is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools and digital learning platforms.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple training programs and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel locally for training, academic sessions, or laboratory support, if required.
