A leading Meat Products Manufacturing Company in Sharjah, UAE is looking for a Microbiologist with the following:
Job Responsibilities
- Perform microbiological tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with quality standards.
 - Conduct environmental monitoring by sampling equipment, production areas, and employees to verify adherence to hygiene and safety regulations.
 - Prepare, maintain, and issue timely test reports, ensuring that results are documented and communicated effectively.
 - Support the training initiatives of the Quality Department by providing microbiology-related input and awareness sessions for employees.
 - Ensure on-time release of products in SAP to facilitate smooth distribution and avoid delays in sales operations.
 
- Liaise with third-party laboratories for sample collection, forwarding, analysis, and result follow-ups on a daily basis.
 - Report daily quality-related activities and findings to the Quality Manager, highlighting key issues and corrective actions.
 - Monitor and maintain departmental KPIs, ensuring targets are consistently achieved.
 - Enforce safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards in accordance with local laws, regulations, and company requirements for Al Islami products.
 - Identify and report non-conformances in products and operations, ensuring timely corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
 
- Track and measure the Quality Demerit Index (QDI) in daily operations and share reports with the Quality Manager.
 - Maintain accurate records and implement prerequisite programs (PRPs) essential for HACCP, ISO, and other quality management certifications.
 - Provide support for sensory evaluation sessions and assist in laboratory activities when required.
 - Carry out any other responsibilities reasonably assigned by management to support departmental and organizational objectives.
 
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology or a related discipline.
 - 1–3 years of relevant experience in microbiological testing within the food or water industry.
 - Proven knowledge of microbiological testing methods and food safety regulations.
 - Strong skills in quality reporting, SOP preparation, and GMP compliance within the food industry.
 - Proficiency in laboratory documentation, data interpretation, and SAP (preferred).
 - Excellent communication and coordination skills with cross-functional teams and external laboratories.
 - Detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to upholding food safety standards.
