Airlines Catering company in Tamil Nadu, India is hiring a Junior Quality Executive with the following
Job Responsibilities
- Assist the Quality Executive in carrying out daily inspections, quality checks, and monitoring of food safety practices across production, packing, storage, and dispatch areas within the flight catering unit.
- Conduct routine sampling and preliminary microbiological analysis of food items, drinking water, kitchen utensils, food contact surfaces, and equipment to ensure hygiene standards are maintained.
- Regularly monitor, record, and verify temperature parameters of chillers, freezers, hot-holding equipment, blast chillers, and dispatch trolleys to maintain the cold-chain and prevent food spoilage.
- Ensure that all staff members follow proper personal hygiene practices, grooming standards, use of PPE (gloves, masks, aprons, hairnets), and maintain cleanliness across all workstations.
- Maintain and update daily checklists, quality monitoring sheets, hygiene inspection reports, and assist in documentation required for internal and external food safety audits.
- Support the implementation of hygiene-related SOPs, conduct visual checks for pest control measures, and monitor waste segregation and disposal procedures in food production areas.
- Follow up on non-conformities, assist in identifying root causes, ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are taken, and report findings to the Senior Quality Executive or Quality Manager.
- Coordinate effectively with kitchen chefs, storekeepers, procurement, dispatch teams, and hygiene staff to ensure all meals prepared for airline services meet quality, safety, and presentation standards.
Job Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree in Microbiology, Food Technology, or Food Science & Nutrition from a recognized institution.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of food safety regulations and quality systems such as FSSAI, ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, and airline catering hygiene standards.
- Strong interest and willingness to learn and adapt to international airline catering protocols, hygiene guidelines, and quality assurance procedures.
- Excellent observation skills, attention to detail, strong discipline, and the ability to identify hygiene lapses or deviations in standard operating procedures.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts, fast-paced environments, and under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to follow instructions accurately, and maintain systematic documentation and records.
