Junior Quality Controller in Calicut, Kerala to joina growing Food & Beverage manufacturing team. This role is ideal for fresh graduates or candidates with up to 1 year of experience in food quality control, food safety, and FMCG production.
The Junior Quality Controller will be responsible for ensuring that all food products meet HACC+P, FSSAI, GMP, GHP, and ISO 22000 standards. The candidate will play a key role in maintaining product safety, hygiene, taste consistency, and regulatory compliance across raw material handling, processing, and finished goods inspection.This position is crucial in reducing production waste, preventing contamination risks, and maintaining brand quality standards.
Job Responsibilities
Raw Material & Incoming Inspection
- Inspect raw materials, ingredients, packaging materials, and additives upon receipt
- Verify supplier quality certificates and ensure compliance with FSSAI standards
- Monitor storage conditions including temperature and humidity
- In-Process Quality Monitoring
- Conduct routine checks during food processing and beverage production
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and GHP (Good Hygiene Practices)
- Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) as per HACCP guidelines
- Prevent cross-contamination and maintain sanitation standards
Finished Product Testing & Evaluation
- Perform sensory evaluation (taste, texture, aroma, color, appearance)
- Conduct basic chemical and microbiological tests (moisture, pH, acidity, microbial load, etc.)
- Ensure final products meet company specifications and food safety parameters.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain detailed quality control logs, inspection records, and batch reports
- Prepare documentation for internal audits and FSSAI inspections
- Support implementation of ISO 22000 / Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS)
- Record non-conformance reports (NCR) and corrective action plans.
Corrective & Preventive Actions
- Identify product defects, process deviations, or hygiene issues
- Recommend improvements in food processing, storage, or handling practices
- Work closely with production, warehouse, and procurement teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field
- 0–1 year experience in Food Manufacturing, Beverage Industry, Catering, or FMCG
- Freshers with strong academic knowledge of food safety systems may apply
