Junior Microbiologist – Food vacancy at a leading Italian Cheese Manufacturing Company in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE with the following :

Job Responsibilities

As a Junior Microbiologist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring microbiological quality, hygiene, and food safety across the production chain of our premium Italian cheese products.

Microbial Testing & Analysis – Junior Microbiologist – Food

  • Conduct routine microbiological analysis on raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and environmental swabs.
  • Perform tests for total plate count (TPC), coliforms, yeast & mold, E. coli, Listeria, Salmonella, and other relevant pathogens as per standard protocols.
  • Maintain and calibrate microbiological equipment such as incubators, autoclaves, and colony counters.

Hygiene Monitoring & Contamination Control

  • Implement and monitor Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Conduct regular sanitation verification and environmental monitoring (EMP) in production and packaging zones.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to investigate root causes of microbiological deviations and implement corrective actions.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of microbiological data in accordance with ISO 17025 and HACCP standards.
  • Junior Microbiologist – Food Assist in preparing internal and external microbiological reports for audits and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor trends and alert supervisors about potential contamination risks or anomalies.

Operational Support

  • Support new product validation and shelf-life studies through microbial testing.
  • Maintain inventory of microbiological reagents, media, and consumables.
  • Work independently during assigned night shifts and extended hours to meet testing deadlines.

Qualifications – Junior Microbiologist – Food

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Food Technology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3–4 years of hands-on experience in food microbiology, preferably within a dairy or cheese production facility.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in microbiological methods and sample preparation techniques.
    • Knowledge of ISO, HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations.
    • Experience using laboratory information management systems (LIMS) is a plus.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Strong time management and ability to handle high workloads.
    • Detail-oriented with high levels of accuracy and consistency.
    • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
    • Adaptable, self-driven, and able to work independently under minimal supervision.
    • Flexible with work hours; willing to work late evenings, weekends, and night shifts based on operational needs.
