Leading International Hotel Chain is hiring a Hygiene Officer in Dubai, UAE with the following :
Responsibilities
- Ensure strict adherence to local health and hygiene regulations set by Dubai Municipality and other relevant authorities. Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive hygiene policies and procedures throughout the hotel premises.
- Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular inspections of all hotel areas, including guest rooms, dining facilities, kitchens, public spaces, and back-of-house areas, to ensure compliance with hygiene standards. Perform internal audits and collaborate with external auditors for assessments.
- Staff Training: Provide comprehensive training sessions to hotel staff on hygiene practices, sanitation methods, food handling, and personal cleanliness to ensure a hygienic environment and safe practices in their respective roles.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of hygiene-related activities, including inspection reports, training sessions, incident reports, and corrective actions taken. Prepare and submit necessary documentation to regulatory authorities as required.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential hygiene risks and hazards within the hotel premises. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate these risks effectively, ensuring the safety and well-being of guests and staff.
- Supplier Collaboration: Liaise with suppliers to ensure that all incoming goods, including food, cleaning supplies, and other materials, meet the required hygiene standards and specifications.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement protocols for handling hygiene-related emergencies, such as outbreaks or contamination incidents, and take immediate and appropriate actions to address them.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry standards, best practices, and emerging trends in hygiene management. Recommend and implement improvements to existing processes for enhanced hygiene practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Hospitality Management, Environmental Health, or a related field. Relevant certifications or training in food safety and hygiene management are highly desirable.
- Proven work experience (X years) as a Hygiene Officer or a similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably within hotels in Dubai, with a solid understanding of local hygiene regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of hygiene standards, food safety protocols, sanitation practices, HACCP principles, and relevant hotel industry standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and educate staff at all levels on hygiene best practices.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to conduct thorough inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and experience in maintaining accurate hygiene-related documentation.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, demonstrating leadership skills when necessary.
