Hygiene Officer opportunity to join a hospitality team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene across all hotel operations, ensuring full compliance with local regulations and international hospitality standards. This role plays a critical part in protecting guest health, enhancing brand reputation, and supporting overall business performance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure achievement of business goals, including financial targets, operational efficiency, quality standards, and strategic initiatives within the hygiene and food safety function.
  • Monitor and implement hygiene and sanitation programs to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness across kitchens, food preparation areas, storage facilities, restaurants, and back-of-house operations.
  • Ensure all food served to guests and employees is free from microbiological, chemical, and physical contamination through effective monitoring and preventive controls.
  • Oversee HACCP implementation, critical control point monitoring, documentation, and corrective action procedures.
  • Conduct routine hygiene inspections, internal audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with local health authorities and international food safety standards.
  • Ensure timely completion of hygiene-related projects within approved budgets and defined quality benchmarks.
  • Identify opportunities for Hospitality cost efficiencies without compromising food safety or hygiene standards.
  • Maintain seamless communication across all departments, including kitchen, F&B service, housekeeping, engineering, and management teams.
  • Provide on-the-job and off-the-job training sessions on hygiene, sanitation, food safety awareness, and best practices.
  • Deliver constructive feedback to team members and supervisors to continuously improve hygiene performance.
  • Investigate hygiene-related complaints, conduct root cause analysis, and ensure proper service recovery measures are implemented.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, training logs, audit documentation, and corrective action plans.
  • Support external audits, inspections by local authorities, and certification processes.
  • Promote a culture of food safety awareness to ensure every guest enjoys a safe and memorable hospitality experience from arrival to departure.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar Hygiene Officer or Food Safety role within a 5-star hotel or luxury hospitality environment in Dubai or the UAE.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience for candidates responsible for managing hygiene teams.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Food Safety, Food Technology, or equivalent certification.
  • High School Diploma is mandatory; a College Degree in Hotel Management or a related hospitality field is preferred.
