A Hospitality Group in Dubai, UAE is looking for a Hygiene Officer with experience in Food Safety and or quality assurance in a restaurant or hotel.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of all hygiene and food safety programs as per SFS / ISO 22000:2018 and Dubai Municipality guidelines.
- Provide operational support to the Stewarding Department, ensuring alignment with food safety standards.
- Monitor and enforce the highest levels of hygiene and sanitation across all F&B outlets, kitchens, staff dining areas, and back-of-house zones.
- Ensure all food items served to guests and staff are free from microbiological, chemical, and physical contamination.
- Conduct regular hygiene audits and spot checks across the property and recommend improvements where necessary.
- Oversee and ensure strict adherence to food handling practices, including segregation of raw and cooked items.
- Monitor and verify temperature control logs for refrigerators, freezers, hot-holding equipment, and food items.
- Investigate any hygiene or safety non-compliances and document corrective and preventive actions.
- Enforce food stock rotation practices (FIFO) to minimize risk and ensure food freshness.
- Work collaboratively with chefs, kitchen staff, housekeeping, engineering, and other departments to ensure cross-functional food safety awareness and training.
- Stay updated with regulatory changes and hygiene trends in the hospitality industry.
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a food safety, hygiene, or quality assurance role within a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
- Completed Dubai Municipality-approved Food Safety Training.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Food Safety, Environmental Health, Microbiology, Public Health, or a related discipline.
- Certified in HACCP, ISO 22000, or other recognized Food Safety Management Systems.
