Hygiene Officer vacancy to lead the Catering Industry in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional to ensure that all catering operations meet the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation, in full compliance with UAE food safety laws and international quality standards.

Hygiene Officer – Job Overview

As a Catering Hygiene Officer, you will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining hygiene systems and safety protocols across all kitchen and catering facilities. The ideal candidate will play a key role in conducting hygiene inspections, staff training, and ensuring compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000, and municipal health regulations. You will work closely with the culinary and operations teams to uphold a culture of hygiene excellence and continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Food Safety Management System (FSMS) according to HACCP and ISO 22000 standards.
  • Conduct regular hygiene inspections and internal audits across kitchens, storage areas, and catering sites.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) and other local regulatory requirements.
  • Train catering and kitchen staff on food safety practices, personal hygiene, and sanitation procedures.
  • Maintain accurate hygiene and safety documentation, inspection reports, and corrective action records.
  • Identify potential hazards, assess risks, and recommend preventive measures to improve hygiene performance.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and procurement to ensure safe handling, storage, and transportation of food products.
  • Support management during external audits, inspections, and certifications related to food safety.

Hygiene Officer – Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Public Health, or a related field in Food or Biological Sciences.
  • HACCP Level 3 Certification – Mandatory
  • Food Safety Level 4 Certification – Mandatory
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a catering company, hotel, or large-scale food service establishment, with direct exposure to hygiene and food safety systems.
  • Prior experience in the GCC or Middle East will be considered an added advantage.
  • Candidates currently on a Visit Visa or available for immediate joining are preferred.
