A Logistics company in Dubai, UAE is hiring an HSE Assistant with the following health and safety qualifications:

Job Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain all HSE documentation and procedures, including the HSEMS system on-site.
  • Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventive measures to mitigate hazards.
  • Initiate and organize HSE training and toolbox talks for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Perform safety walkabouts at the depot to identify and address unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Investigate all accidents and near-miss incidents, ensuring thorough reporting and follow-up.

  • Inspect personnel work to identify safety issues or non-conformities and take corrective actions.
  • Establish and enforce company safety policies, procedures, and SOPs as needed.
  • Conduct spot checks on drivers to ensure compliance with SOPs.
  • Perform site safety visits to ensure the safe delivery of products to clients.
  • Participate in emergency response drills and act as an emergency responder during real emergencies.
  • Verify that tools, equipment, and vehicles are safe and adequate for use.
  • Review Incident Action Plans and approve subcontractor safety plans.

  • Coordinate the registration and removal of hazardous waste via the DM portal.
  • Identify staff training needs and communicate them to the HSE Manager.
  • Ensure effective traffic and asset management within the depot.
  • Conduct routine checks on fire systems, spill kits, and other safety equipment in both depot and trucks.
  • Perform inspections of tools, ladders, and other critical safety equipment.
  • Carry out random alco-blow checks on drivers and report any anomalies.
  • Assist with any other HSE-related tasks or projects as assigned by the HSE Manager.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field with a focus on HSE duties.
  • Knowledge of HSEMS documentation and on-site HSE officer operations.
  • Expertise in site health and safety, fire safety, and first aid safety.
  • Experience in conducting audits and compliance assessments.
  • High-level certification with additional qualifications in NEBOSH/IGC for delivering health and safety practices on-site.
