A Healthy Vegan Snacks Processing Company in Dubai UAE is looking for a Quality Assurance Officer with the following:

Job Responsibilities

  1. Ensure Product Quality and Compliance:
    • Oversee the production of healthy vegan snacks, healthy vegetarian snacks, and vegan healthy treats to ensure they meet company quality standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Verify that all ingredients used in vegan diet snacks and vegetarian diet snacks adhere to food safety regulations and do not contain non-compliant additives or contaminants.
  2. Implementation and Maintenance of Food Safety Standards:
    • Develop, implement, and monitor food safety management systems such as HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and ISO 22000 to ensure a high level of food safety and hygiene.
    • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the production process and establish preventive measures.
  3. Conduct Regular Audits and Inspections:
    • Perform routine inspections of raw materials, production processes, packaging, and storage conditions to ensure that healthy vegetarian snacks meet quality and safety expectations.
    • Lead both internal and external audits, including supplier audits, and ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality regulations and international food safety standards.

  1. Quality Control and Testing:
    • Monitor critical quality parameters such as taste, texture, shelf life, and nutritional value to maintain product consistency.
    • Work closely with laboratory teams to conduct microbiological and chemical testing of vegan-friendly snack products, ensuring they are free from harmful pathogens, toxins, and allergens.
  2. Handling Customer Complaints and Non-Conformities:
    • Investigate consumer complaints related to product defects, contamination, or inconsistencies in vegan and vegetarian diet snacks.
    • Identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence.
  3. Collaboration with R&D and Production Teams:
    • Work alongside research and development (R&D) teams to improve existing products and develop new, innovative plant-based snacks that align with consumer trends.
    • Provide input on ingredient selection, process optimization, and sensory evaluation to enhance the overall quality of vegan healthy treats.
  4. Documentation and Record-Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate records of quality control activities, including test reports, production logs, and compliance documentation.
    • Ensure that all standard operating procedures (SOPs) are updated and in line with current food safety regulations and industry best practices.
  5. Training and Staff Development:
    • Organize training programs for production and quality control staff on hygiene practices, allergen management, and food safety protocols.
    • Promote a culture of quality awareness within the organization to ensure employees are knowledgeable about handling healthy vegan snacks safely and efficiently.
  6. Packaging and Labeling Compliance:
    • Ensure that all product labels comply with UAE food labeling regulations, including accurate ingredient declarations, nutritional information, and allergen warnings.
    • Verify that packaging materials are food-safe and suitable for preserving the freshness and integrity of vegan diet snacks.
  7. Staying Updated with Industry Trends and Regulatory Changes:
  • Keep track of evolving food safety regulations, ingredient sourcing trends, and new developments in the healthy snacks industry.
  • Implement best practices to enhance sustainability and clean-label initiatives for vegan and vegetarian snack products.

Job Qualifications

  1. Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related field with a strong foundation in food safety, quality assurance, and nutrition.
  2. Relevant Work Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality assurance, food safety, or quality control, preferably in the healthy snacks, vegan food, or plant-based food industry.
  3. Food Safety and Quality Standards Expertise:
    • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, and other relevant food safety management systems.
    • Familiarity with Dubai Municipality food safety regulations and global standards applicable to vegan-friendly snack products.
  4. Technical Knowledge in Product Testing and Compliance:
    • Experience in microbiological and chemical testing of food products, including shelf-life analysis and allergen management.
    • Understanding of nutritional labeling, ingredient declarations, and certifications for vegan and vegetarian food products.
  5. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
    • Ability to conduct root cause analysis for product quality issues and implement effective corrective actions.
    • Strong attention to detail when monitoring production processes and conducting inspections.
  6. Communication and Leadership Abilities:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
    • Ability to train and educate staff on quality control measures and food safety best practices.
  7. Technology and Software Proficiency:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting.
    • Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and food safety software is an advantage.
  8. Adaptability and Industry Awareness:
    • Passion for healthy, sustainable, and plant-based food products with a keen understanding of market trends.
    • Willingness to stay updated on advancements in food technology and quality assurance practices.
