Gourmet Chococlates and Dates Processing Industry in Abu Dhabi, UAE is looking for a Gourmet – Food Quality Controller Inspector with the following

Job Responsibilities – Gourmet Food

  • Product Inspection:
    Inspect and monitor the entire gourmet dates production cycle — from sourcing and receiving raw dates and chococlates to processing, sorting, packaging, and storage — ensuring all processes comply with relevant food safety and quality standards.
  • Facility Audits:
    Conduct routine audits of production and storage areas to check for cleanliness, equipment hygiene, pest control, temperature and humidity conditions, and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Quality Verification:
    Examine incoming raw dates for defects, contamination, or inconsistencies in size, texture, ripeness, and overall appearance. Inspect final packed products to verify they meet company quality specifications and customer expectations.
  • Testing and Sampling:
    Perform necessary laboratory and on-site quality tests on Gourmet raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products to verify moisture content, shelf-life, and absence of foreign matter.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    Ensure full compliance with local and international food safety regulations and standards such as HACCP, ISO 22000, and other applicable guidelines for dried fruits and gourmet dates.
  • Issue Identification and Resolution:
    Identify deviations or non-conformities in food product quality or production processes. Communicate findings clearly to the production team and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
  • Record Keeping:
    Maintain detailed and up-to-date records of inspections, test results, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions, ensuring traceability and regulatory compliance.

  • Staff Training:
    Support training sessions for production and warehouse staff on food safety practices, hygiene standards, and quality control procedures specific to handling, processing, and packaging dates.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Stay informed about industry trends, quality control innovations, and best practices in the date processing sector. Contribute ideas for process improvements to enhance product quality and safety.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Agriculture, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of proven experience in food safety and quality control, preferably within the dried fruits, fresh produce, or gourmet vegan chocolate, dates industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety management systems (HACCP, ISO 22000) and Good Hygiene Practices (GHP).
  • Familiarity with the handling, processing, and storage requirements for dates and similar produce.
  • Hands-on experience with inspection and laboratory testing equipment.

  • High attention to detail with the ability to detect defects and implement corrective measures swiftly.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet production deadlines.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Food safety or quality control certifications (e.g., HACCP) are a plus.
