A global energy operator company is hiring a Food and welfare Specialist in Ras Laffan, Qatar with the following:
Responsibilities
- Perform audits on catering facilities to ensure food safety and hygiene and ensure ongoing compliance to food safety standards and regulations in food Industry.
- Conduct hazard analysis, identifying and evaluating each type of hazard. Determines critical control points (CCPs) and establishes systems to monitor these to ensure that they are under control in such a manner that the food does not directly or indirectly, harm the consumer.
- Establish standard operations procedures and documentation to facilitate an auditable system in compliance with National Health Authority food regulations and code of practices. Corrective action should be taken if CCP’s found to be not under control.
- Develop a food safety strategy to prevent food poisoning through biological, chemical and physical agents. Establish processes to ensure all food items are stored, prepared, thawed and cooked at the correct temperatures and conditions. Establishes good stock inventory to maintain stock rotation, FIFO (first –in, first- out) with proper labelling, traceability and enabled quick recall.
- Identify areas of opportunities for improvement and provide recommendations to management for decisions. Keeps management informed on actual or potential risks and advises on corrective actions to be taken.
- Ensure preventive maintenance and calibrations of equipment are carried out and coordinate a variety of services such as waste removal and pest control.
- Communicate information concerning the development, implementation and updating of food safety throughout the organization to ensure the food safety required by International Standards. Provides information to consumers concerning product information when necessary and consumer feedback including consumer complaints.
- Ensure Emergency Response Preparedness to stop the food chain and traceability of products in case of an incident. Conducts supplier audits and monitors compliance with health and fire regulations regarding food preparation and serving. In the event of a possible food contamination/poisoning, conduct a thorough investigation with the catering department and the contractor to find out the root cause and ensure corrective/preventive actions are taken.
- Prepare training material and organize training programs for food safety and hygiene purposes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Food Engineering, Food Science, Food Technology or Microbiology.
