Food Technologist Trainee wanted at a seafood processing company in Kerala, India with the following:

Job Responsibilites

  • Assist in Daily Quality Control Activities:
    Support routine QC checks during receiving, processing, and packing of seafood to ensure alignment with food safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor Hygiene & Handling Practices:
    Observe and report on sanitation practices, personal hygiene compliance, and handling procedures followed in the production area.
  • Participate in Research & Product Development:Food Technologist Trainee
    Contribute to studies on seafood preservation methods, texture retention, sensory evaluation, and shelf-life extension techniques.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    Maintain accurate logs of production parameters, quality inspection results, deviations, and technical observations as per company SOPs.
  • Support Process Improvements:
    Collaborate with senior technologists to evaluate processing workflows and suggest improvements for enhanced product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Work closely with Production, R&D, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth coordination during daily operations.
  • Learn & Apply Sustainable Practices:
    Gain knowledge of sustainable seafood handling, waste reduction, cold chain management, and environmentally responsible processing methods.

Job Qualifications

  • Educational Background:
    Diploma/Bachelor’s in Food Technology, Fisheries Science, Food Science, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
  • Basic Technical Knowledge: Food Technologist Trainee
    Understanding of seafood processing, hygiene protocols, food microbiology basics, and safe handling practices.
  • Strong Attention to Detail:
    Ability to identify quality deviations and document findings clearly and accurately.
  • Teamwork & Communication:
    Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in production environments.
  • Eagerness to Learn:
    A positive attitude, adaptability, and willingness to gain hands-on industry experience in seafood technology.
  • Added Advantage (Optional):
    • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, or ISO standards.
    • Experience through internships or academic projects in fisheries/seafood processing
    • Basic computer skills for report writing and documentation.
