Food Technologist – Quality Controller (QC) opportunity in Kerala, India, with a leading Food Products and Food Ingredients processing company, with the following:
Job Responsibilities
- Perform quality control inspections on incoming raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure conformity with company specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor food production processes to ensure consistent product quality, identifying deviations and recommending corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety and quality management systems, including HACCP, GMP, ISO, FSSAI, and other applicable regulatory standards.
- Conduct laboratory testing, including basic chemical, physical, and sensory analysis of food products and raw materials.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records, inspection reports, test results, and compliance documentation.
- Support new product development (NPD) activities by assisting with trials, formulation testing, shelf-life studies, and process validation.
- Participate in internal audits and provide support during external audits by regulatory authorities and certification bodies.
- Ensure strict adherence to hygiene, sanitation, and food safety practices on the shop floor, including personal hygiene and cleaning procedures.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and waste minimization while maintaining product safety and quality.
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and warehouse teams to resolve quality-related issues effectively.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
- 0–3 years of experience in quality control or food manufacturing; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Working knowledge of food safety standards, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.
- Basic understanding of laboratory testing methods, sampling procedures, and documentation practices.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work on the production floor and adapt to operational requirements.
