Food Technologist – Quality Controller – A culinary condiments processing company in Dubai, UAE, is looking for a Food Technologist – QC with the following:
Job Responsibilites
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures, standards, and specifications for food production.
- Ensure all products comply with local and international food laws, HACCP, ISO, GMP, and customer requirements.
- Review and interpret customer specifications to ensure expectations are fully met.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to define quality requirements for raw materials and packaging from suppliers.
- 2. Production Monitoring & Process Control
- Monitor and inspect production processes to ensure adherence to quality and hygiene standards.
- Set quality benchmarks for raw materials, in-process checks, and finished products.
- Verify that manufacturing operations follow food safety, hygiene, and occupational health standards.
- Identify process inefficiencies, reduce waste, and suggest improvements to enhance productivity.
- 3. Data Analysis & Performance Reporting
- Collect, analyze, and document quality-related data using statistical tools and quality management systems.
- Prepare quality reports, KPIs, and trend analyses for management review.
- Measure performance, identify deviations or defects, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Review and update existing quality policies to align with continuous improvement goals.
- 4. Product Development & Innovation
- Collaborate with R&D teams to modify existing products or develop new food formulations.
- Research emerging technologies, ingredients, and consumer trends to support innovation.
- Select raw materials, ingredients, and packaging suitable for product development and cost optimization.
- Conduct product trials, stability tests, and scale-up processes for commercial production.
- 5. Supplier Management & Audits
- Evaluate and approve suppliers based on quality standards and certifications.
- Conduct supplier audits and assess raw material compliance and food safety practices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and external certification bodies.

- 6. Documentation & Traceability
- Maintain accurate documentation of quality procedures, test results, product specifications, and traceability records.
- Approve product labels, nutritional information, and packaging designs to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Ensure proper documentation for internal and external audits (HACCP, ISO, regulatory authorities).
- 7. Product Launches & Cross-Department Collaboration
- Coordinate new product launches with production, procurement, logistics, and marketing teams.
- Estimate product costings based on raw material usage, manufacturing expenses, and packaging.
- Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at reducing production costs, minimizing waste, and improving sustainability.
- 8. Customer Feedback & Complaint Handling
- Investigate quality-related customer complaints or product issues and implement corrective actions.
- Analyze complaint trends to prevent reoccurrence and improve product reliability.
- Communicate resolutions and technical feedback to relevant teams and clients.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, or related field.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in Quality Control/Assurance in the food manufacturing or FMCG industry.
- Knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, Dubai Municipality Food Safety regulations.
- Strong understanding of food processing, raw material functionality, and product shelf-life.
- Experience with quality management systems, documentation, and audit procedures.
- Good analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with statistical tools or QMS software is an advantage.
