Food Technologist vacancy at a leading Fast Food Chain in Dubai UAE

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the formulation, modification, and optimization of new and existing food products, especially within confectionery and bakery categories.
  • Conduct lab-scale and pilot-scale trials and document outcomes for further refinement and scale-up.
  • Participate in sensory evaluations and analyze feedback from internal panels and consumer testing to guide product improvements.
  • Support the development and enforcement of quality assurance and food safety protocols in line with HACCP, GMP, and local regulations.
  • Maintain detailed records of test results, formulations, and process parameters for traceability and compliance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the production, packaging, and marketing departments to ensure product consistency and alignment with brand objectives.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative ingredients, processes, or packaging solutions.
  • Assist in troubleshooting product or process issues during manufacturing.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the food industry, specifically in confectionery and/or bakery production.
  • Sound knowledge of food production practices, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow standard operating procedures and protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude towards teamwork and problem-solving.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for technical documentation and reporting.
  • Internship or hands-on experience in product development or R&D in the food industry.
  • Understanding of ingredient functionality, formulation techniques, and preservation methods.
  • Familiarity with sensory evaluation techniques, statistical data analysis, and consumer research tools.
  • Exposure to food safety systems like HACCP, ISO 22000, or FSSC 22000.

Technical Skills – FoodTechnologist

  • Competency in food laboratory testing methodologies, including pH, moisture, texture, and shelf-life evaluation.
  • Knowledge of processing equipment used in bakery and confectionery production lines.
  • Awareness of emerging clean-label ingredients, natural sweeteners, and functional food trends.
