Join a leading biscuit manufacturing company Food Technologist in Dubai where your food science expertise will contribute to developing high-quality, delicious products loved by consumers across the region. Looking for a skilled Food Technologist who can lead product development and ensure safety, consistency, and innovation in every bite.
Responsibilities
- Lead Product Development & Innovation:
Design and develop new biscuit formulations and improve existing recipes by balancing taste, texture, shelf-life, and nutrition requirements. Keep up with market trends to introduce innovative product concepts. - Oversee Production Trials and Scale-Up:
Plan and conduct plant trials to test new or modified formulations. Work closely with production teams to ensure smooth scale-up of successful lab recipes into large-scale manufacturing. - Ensure Product Quality and Consistency:
Monitor product attributes such as color, texture, moisture, and packaging to ensure they meet defined quality specifications. Investigate any batch inconsistencies or consumer complaints.
- Support Regulatory and Food Safety Compliance:
Ensure that all products comply with local and international food safety laws, labeling regulations, and internal FSMS protocols. Maintain accurate documentation for product specifications and compliance. - Manage Raw Material and Ingredient Selection:
Evaluate and select new raw materials, flavors, and functional ingredients from approved suppliers. Coordinate with procurement and QA for ingredient quality verification. - Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams:
Work with R&D, Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Production departments to bring innovative and market-ready products from concept to shelf. - Conduct Sensory Evaluation and Shelf-Life Studies:
Design sensory panels and perform shelf-life evaluations to optimize product appeal and longevity. Recommend appropriate packaging solutions to preserve freshness. - Support Lab and Analytical Testing:
Assist in analyzing physical, chemical, and microbial properties of food samples when needed. Interpret lab results to support product improvements and safety assurance.
Qualifications
- Educational Background:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related discipline. - Professional Experience:
Minimum of 4 years experience working in food manufacturing, preferably in biscuit, bakery, or confectionery sectors. - Technical Knowledge:
Sound understanding of food chemistry, bakery processing, FSMS standards (ISO 22000, HACCP), GMP, and regulatory requirements. - Innovation & R&D Skills:
Experience in formulating and testing new products. Strong interest in consumer trends, flavor innovation, and clean-label product development.
