Food Technologist vacnacy at a leading Dairy Products manufacturing company in UAQ, UAE with the following:

Job Responsibilities

1. Product Development:

  • Develop and formulate innovative dairy products, including milk-based beverages, cheese, yogurt, butter, and other value-added dairy items, from concept through pilot trials to full-scale production.
  • Modify and refine existing product formulations to enhance taste, texture, nutritional profile, and shelf life while ensuring cost-effectiveness and consumer appeal.
  • Conduct trials for ingredient substitution, fortification, or flavor enhancement in line with market trends and customer requirements.

2. Quality Control & Assurance:

  • Oversee and monitor all stages of dairy production to ensure that raw materials and finished products meet defined quality and safety standards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance systems in compliance with food safety management systems such as HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, and relevant local/international dairy standards.
  • Conduct routine inspections, sampling, and laboratory analysis to detect and address deviations promptly.

3. Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure that all dairy products comply with national and international food safety laws, labeling standards, and nutritional claims regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation and records required for audits, certifications, and regulatory approvals.
  • Liaise with food regulatory bodies and certification agencies as needed.

4. Research & Innovation:

  • Stay updated with emerging trends, technologies, and scientific advancements in the dairy industry.
  • Conduct research on new dairy ingredients, alternative processing methods, and sustainable packaging solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D, marketing, and supply chain teams to align product development with market needs and company objectives.

5. Process Optimization:

  • Work alongside production and engineering teams to optimize dairy processing techniques, improve yields, and reduce waste.
  • Scale up laboratory or pilot recipes to commercial production levels, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot formulation, processing, or equipment-related issues during production runs.

6. Sensory Evaluation:

  • Plan and conduct sensory evaluation panels for new or improved dairy products to assess flavor, texture, appearance, and overall acceptability.
  • Analyze feedback and integrate findings into product refinement and development cycles.

7. Technical Support:

  • Provide technical expertise and support to production, procurement, sales, and quality teams on dairy product specifications, raw material requirements, and process capabilities.
  • Train production staff on new processes, quality standards, and handling procedures for dairy products.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Food Technology, Food Science, Dairy Science, Nutrition, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years’ experience in dairy product development and processing is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of dairy microbiology, dairy chemistry, and dairy processing equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with food safety management systems, including HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, or equivalent.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to work effectively in laboratory, pilot plant, and full-scale production environments.
