Hiring Food Technologist to join R&D and Product Development team and help shape the future of India’s fresh meat and seafood industry for Location Bengaluru, India

Job Responsibilities

  • Product Development & Innovation
    • Lead the entire product development cycle from concept to commercialization, including ideation, bench-scale trials, prototyping, sensory evaluations, shelf-life testing, and product launch.
    • Develop differentiated, consumer-centric products aligned with current and emerging protein trends in India and global markets.
    • Renovate and improve existing product lines to enhance taste, texture, nutritional value, shelf-life, and overall cost efficiency.
  • Technical Expertise & Process Optimization
    • Apply in-depth knowledge of food processing technologies such as vacuum packing, pasteurization, retort, IQF (individually quick frozen), hot-fill, and modified atmosphere packaging (MAP).
    • Recommend suitable processing and packaging methods to ensure product safety, freshness, and consistency at scale.
    • Partner with suppliers to evaluate new ingredients, assess innovative technologies, and conduct trials for performance validation.
  • Collaboration & Cross-functional Alignment
    • Work closely with marketing, supply chain, operations, and sales teams to transform consumer insights into commercially successful products.
    • Collaborate with chefs, culinary experts, and internal tasting panels to balance authentic flavor with processing practicality.
    • Support manufacturing partners and co-manufacturers (CMOs) in plant trials, troubleshooting, and process scale-up.
  • Quality, Safety & Compliance
    • Ensure all new and existing products meet food safety and regulatory standards, including FSSAI, HACCP, and GMP requirements.
    • Maintain proper documentation for regulatory submissions and quality audits.
    • Conduct structured sensory evaluations and integrate consumer feedback to refine products continuously.

Job Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Educational Background:
    • B.Tech/M.Tech in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience:
    • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in R&D, product development, or formulation within processed foods, FMCG, QSR, or D2C environments.
    • Prior experience in meat or seafood product development is highly desirable.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of functional ingredients such as proteins, hydrocolloids, stabilizers, fats, seasonings, and flavor systems.
    • Expertise in food processing and preservation technologies (chilled, frozen, retort, shelf-stable formats).
    • Familiarity with advanced packaging technologies (MAP, vacuum sealing, retort pouches, etc.).
  • Regulatory & Safety Knowledge:
    • Working knowledge of FSSAI guidelines, HACCP principles, and GMP standards.
  • Core Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.
    • Ability to balance culinary creativity with industrial feasibility.
    • Effective project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
