Food Safety Supervisor – Retail oppurtunity for a leading retail chain of Food to oversee food safety compliance across Dubai. The role ensures full compliance with UAE food safety legislation, Dubai Municipality regulations, HACCP principles, ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS), and internal company standards.

The Food Safety Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining high standards of hygiene, food handling, storage, and retail display practices. This position involves conducting regular store inspections, internal audits, supplier evaluations, and staff training programs to minimize food safety risks and ensure consumer protection. The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact for all food safety matters, including regulatory inspections and external audits.

Job Responsibilities

Food Safety Compliance and FSMS Implementation

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HACCP and ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems across retail store operations.
  • Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality Food Code and all applicable UAE food safety regulations.
  • Develop, review, and update food safety policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), manuals, and operational guidelines in line with evolving business needs.
  • Monitor proper food receiving, storage, temperature control, stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO), and product display practices.
  • Oversee allergen management, cross-contamination prevention, and hygiene control measures in retail environments.

Audits, Inspections, and Risk Management

  • Plan and conduct regular internal food safety audits across Everyday Goods stores.
  • Perform scheduled and unannounced inspections to verify compliance with food hygiene standards and GMP practices.
  • Ensure timely implementation and follow-up of corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA).
  • Conduct root cause analysis for food safety-related customer complaints, regulatory non-conformities, and incidents.
  • Perform hazard analysis and risk assessments when introducing new products, suppliers, or retail processes.
  • Analyze food safety trends, incident reports, and audit findings to prepare monthly performance and compliance reports for management.

Supplier and Regulatory Coordination

  • Conduct supplier evaluations and on-site audits for high-risk suppliers to ensure food safety and source verification.
  • Maintain effective communication with regulatory authorities and ensure timely updates and compliance with new regulations.
  • Act as the key contact person during regulatory inspections and third-party audits.

• Develop and deliver internal food safety training programs, including:

  • Basic Food Safety

  • Identify and coordinate mandatory external training programs as required by Emirate-level regulations.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments and performance monitoring.
  • Maintain accurate training records and compliance documentation.
  • Conduct on-the-job training sessions to address knowledge gaps and improve employee awareness of food safety practices.

Job Qualification

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, and UAE food safety regulations.
  • Experience in retail food operations, supermarkets, or FMCG environments.
  • Excellent auditing, inspection, and documentation skills.
  • Strong communication and training delivery abilities.
  • Ability to perform risk assessments and root cause analysis.
  • • Proficiency in preparing compliance reports and audit documentation.
