Food Safety QHSE Officer opening for a leading catering company in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the UAE catering or hospitality sector and strong expertise in food safety management systems, HACCP, ISO standards, and QHSE compliance.

This role is critical in ensuring food safety, quality assurance, health, safety, and environmental compliance across catering operations, central kitchens, and food service units.

Job Responsibilities – Food Safety QHSE Officer

  • Implement, monitor, and maintain Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) in line with HACCP, ISO 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Conduct regular food safety inspections, hygiene audits, and QHSE audits across catering kitchens, food preparation areas, storage facilities, and delivery vehicles.
  • Ensure full compliance with Abu Dhabi Municipality, UAE food safety laws, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Identify food safety, health, and safety risks and recommend corrective and preventive actions to minimize non-conformities.
  • Monitor personal hygiene practices, sanitation programs, pest control activities, cleaning and disinfection schedules, and waste management systems.
  • Investigate food safety incidents, customer complaints, near misses, and workplace accidents; prepare incident reports and root cause analysis.
  • Conduct food safety and QHSE training for kitchen staff, food handlers, supervisors, and operational teams.
  • Maintain accurate QHSE documentation, records, SOPs, checklists, and audit reports.
  • Support external audits, third-party certifications, and client inspections.
  • Ensure compliance during night shift catering operations, including events, bulk production, and logistics.

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Food Safety Officer / QHSE Officer in the UAE catering or hospitality industry.
  • Valid QHSE or Food Safety certification/license (HACCP mandatory; ISO Lead Auditor certification is an advantage).
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP principles, food hygiene, ISO standards, risk assessments, and UAE food safety regulations.
  • Ability to train and coach staff on food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Willingness to work night shifts and flexible schedules as required by catering operations.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate with operations, kitchen, and management teams.
