Pizza Hut is hiring a Food Safety & QA Lead with the following experience in QA manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Drives continuous improvement and manages supplier performance for products and categories including (but not limited to) packaging, cheese and dairy products, fresh produce, processed proteins, flour, desserts, flour and beverages for Pizza Hut.
  • Manages both supplier and restaurant food safety/quality auditing programs including over 20 3rd party auditors for 2 audit vendor companies.
  • Relentlessly leads the food safety agenda for upholding top food safety practices and outcomes in restaurants and suppliers.
  • Reports food safety and quality performance of the business unit and provides recommendations to the Operations & Leadership team.
  • Actively collaborates with, and contributes to Pizza Hut’s global food safety, quality programs and crisis management.
  • Actively participates in interdisciplinary task force meetings.
  • Conducts restaurant visits, as required.
  • Conducts supplier visits, as required.
  • Works collaboratively with supply chain partners to ensure efficiency, minimize waste and improve profitability without compromising quality and food safety
  • Works collaboratively with the Training & Operations team to develop national training for food safety, core products and quality initiatives.
  • Leads projects as necessary that improve Food Safety and Quality Assurance performance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years food industry QA experience in a manufacturing or retail sector, or equivalent experience.
  • Post-Secondary Degree in applicable Science fields and/or Microbiology.
  • Very strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (particularly Excel).
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task several priorities.
  • Familiarity with the Canadian Packaging & Labeling Act, Canadian Weights & Measures, Food & Drug Act, CFIA Meat Inspection Act, and general CFIA & Health Canada guidelines.
  • Training in HACCP, SPC, GMPs, Auditing, Microbiology.
  • Experience working with auditors.
  • Some travel is required (10- 15% of travel).
  • Fluency in French strongly preferred.
