Food Safety Officer in Dubai for a premium plant-based frozen dessert brand , food safety systems must exceed local minimum requirements and align with Dubai Municipality Food Code, HACCP, ISO 22000, and FSSC 22000 standards, ensuring readiness for global export markets.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with Dubai Municipality Food Code, HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, and GCC/export market requirements; manage inspections and audits; act as primary regulatory liaison; maintain valid trade licenses and product registrations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain HACCP plans, SOPs, CCP monitoring systems, traceability protocols, batch coding, recall readiness systems, allergen management programs, labeling compliance, and document control aligned with international audit standards.
- Oversee ice cream and plant-based frozen dessert manufacturing processes including pasteurization logs, homogenization parameters, batch/continuous freezer operations, overrun control, hardening tunnel and blast freezing processes, storage temperature monitoring, and full cold chain compliance; prevent microbial growth through proper mix handling; validate shelf-life and stability studies; prevent texture degradation and freezer burn; conduct factory hygiene inspections and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Approve and audit raw material and ingredient suppliers; maintain Certificates of Analysis (COA); ensure plant-based ingredient sourcing complies with allergen and labeling regulations; validate traceability systems and expiry management.
- Deliver food safety training to production, warehouse, and store teams; embed a proactive food safety culture across all departments.
- Lead investigations of non-conformities and food safety incidents; design and execute mock recalls; ensure recall readiness within 4 hours; protect brand reputation during incident scenarios.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Food Technology, or related field
- HACCP Certification (Mandatory)
- Dubai Municipality Food Safety Certification (Mandatory)
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in ice cream or frozen dessert manufacturing
- Hands-on experience with pasteurization systems and homogenization processes. Practical knowledge of batch or continuous freezers. Experience managing hardening tunnels and blast freezers
- Strong understanding of cold-chain management systems. Experience measuring and controlling overrun. Experience in dairy and/or plant-based frozen dessert production
- Experience in ISO 22000 or FSSC 22000 certified facilities. Knowledge of EU, US, and GCC export food safety regulations. Experience supporting international product registration and export compliance. Strong background in food safety audits and regulatory inspections
