Food Safety Officer vacancy at UAE location for a Frozen Meat processing company with the following:

Job Responsibilities

  • Food Safety Management:
    • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve food safety protocols for the storage and handling of frozen meat products.
    • Ensure strict compliance with HACCP principles, ISO standards, and Dubai Municipality regulations.
    • Monitor and manage Critical Control Points (CCPs) to reduce risks of contamination.
  • Halal & Non-Halal Compliance:
    • Oversee proper segregation and storage of halal and non-halal meat to meet regulatory and religious requirements.
    • Assist with the renewal of non-halal permits and ensure valid certifications for all stored products.
  • Audits & Inspections:
    • Coordinate and manage supplier, customer, and internal audits to ensure compliance with all food safety requirements.
    • Conduct regular visits to external warehouses to verify adherence to safety standards.
    • Maintain up-to-date records for audits and inspection reports.
  • Training & Staff Compliance:
    • Organize Basic Food Hygiene (BFH) and internal food safety training sessions for warehouse staff.
    • Work with the PRO to arrange health cards for all employees as per Dubai Municipality requirements.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate food safety documentation, including supplier evaluation forms, certificates (HALAL, COO, COA), and CCP records.
    • Manage and update the Dubai Municipality (DM) portal on a daily basis.
    • Prepare corrective action reports (CARs) for customer complaints and non-conformities (NCRs).
    • Conduct mock traceability tests and product recall drills to ensure readiness for emergencies.
  • Product Quality Assurance:
    • Perform random sampling and product checks to monitor quality during storage and handling.
    • Ensure that all supplier-approved documentation is properly collected and verified for local purchases.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a food safety or quality assurance role within the meat or frozen food industry.
  • In-depth understanding of HACCP, FSMS, ISO 22000, and Dubai Food Code regulations.
  • Knowledge of halal and non-halal meat storage practices.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain detailed records and ensure compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with auditors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
