A Food Stuff Trading and Distribution Company in Dubai, UAE is looking for a Food Safety Officer with the following :
Job Responsibilities
- Food Safety Management:
- Implement, monitor, and continuously improve the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) in compliance with Dubai Municipality and international standards (HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP).
- Conduct routine inspections of food handling, preparation, storage, and service areas to ensure adherence to hygiene and safety protocols.
- Compliance & Regulations:
- Ensure full compliance with local food safety regulations, Dubai Municipality requirements, and other relevant authorities.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, and corrective actions for regulatory and internal use.
- Training & Awareness:
- Conduct regular training sessions for staff on food hygiene, safe handling practices, personal hygiene, pest control, and waste management.
- Develop awareness programs to build a strong food safety culture across the organization.
- Audits & Reporting:
- Assist in internal and external audits related to HACCP, ISO, and other certifications.
- Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance reports, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Risk & Hazard Management:
- Monitor critical control points (CCPs) in production and service areas.
- Identify food safety hazards, assess risks, and recommend mitigation measures to prevent contamination and ensure product integrity.
- Coordination & Communication:
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Production, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to maintain safe food practices.
- Act as the point of contact with government food safety inspectors and certification bodies.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Nutrition, or related field.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, or hygiene supervision within the food industry (manufacturing, catering, or hospitality).
- Strong knowledge of HACCP principles, ISO 22000, GMP, and Dubai Municipality regulations.
- Dubai Municipality-approved Food Safety Officer certification (preferred or must be obtained within probation).
- Excellent knowledge of food safety hazards, hygiene standards, and sanitation practices.
- Strong communication and training skills to effectively coach and guide staff.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of handling audits, documentation, and compliance independently.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic, Hindi, or other languages is an added advantage.
