A company that works in the fields of sports medicine, human health, occupational and physical performance is looking for a Food Safety Officer Abu Dhabi with the following:
Responsibilities
As a Food Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all food handling and preparation processes within the assigned establishments comply with UAE food safety regulations and standards. Your duties will include:
- Conducting routine inspections of food establishments to verify hygiene, sanitation, and food safety practices.
- Sampling food and water for microbiological and chemical testing as per regulatory requirements.
- Monitoring compliance with local food safety legislation and guidelines issued by Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA).
- Investigating food-related complaints, incidents, and suspected foodborne illnesses, and preparing detailed reports on findings.
- Enforcing corrective actions and issuing non-compliance notices where violations are identified.
- Delivering food safety training and awareness sessions to food handlers, supervisors, and kitchen staff.

- Verifying implementation of food safety systems such as HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Preparing reports, documentation, and updates to share with internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
- Supporting food establishments in maintaining records of temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and pest control measures.
- Keeping updated with changes in national food safety standards and contributing to policy implementation at the facility level.
Qualifications
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Microbiology, Food Science, or a related field. - Certification:
HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) certification is mandatory. Additional certifications such as ISO 22000, PIC (Person-in-Charge) certification, or Food Safety Level 4 are an advantage. - Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in food safety inspection, auditing, or compliance within food businesses such as catering companies, hotels, restaurants, or food production facilities.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of local and international food safety laws (especially ADAFSA guidelines).
- Proficiency in identifying food safety hazards and implementing preventive measures.
- Capable of drafting technical reports and non-compliance notices.
- Skilled in conducting staff training and awareness sessions.
- Language:
Fluency in Arabic (Native speaker required). English proficiency is an added advantage. - Other Requirements:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple site inspections.
- Valid UAE driving license preferred.
