A luxury Hotel Group in Dubai UAE is looking for a Food Safety Manager with the following
Job Responsibilities
- Compliance & Program Implementation:
- Develop and review the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and HACCP manuals annually to ensure compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 22000, and OHSAS 18001 standards.
- Establish, implement, and maintain the EHS management system in accordance with regulatory and corporate standards.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with local, federal, and corporate sanitation, food safety, health & safety, and environmental regulations.
- Auditing & Risk Management:
- Conduct internal and external audits to evaluate food safety, occupational safety, and environmental compliance within the hotel.
- Identify risks, communicate trends, and develop corrective and preventive action plans to mitigate hazards.
- Lead and participate in EHS/HACCP compliance audits, ensuring conformance to regulatory and corporate standards.
- Incident Investigation & Corrective Actions:
- Investigate workplace incidents, food safety breaches in Hotel , and accidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed incident reports and safety logs, ensuring follow-up measures are enforced to prevent reoccurrences.
- Training & Awareness Programs:
- Assess staff training needs and develop customized food safety and hygiene training programs for all employees.
- Conduct regular training sessions and workshops on HACCP principles, personal hygiene, sanitation, and occupational safety.
- Promote a “zero incident” safety culture by fostering awareness and ensuring staff compliance.
- Supplier & Contractor Compliance:
- Audit and evaluate suppliers and contractors to ensure compliance with local EHS, HACCP, and hotel food safety standards.
- Ensure all incoming food and beverage products meet quality, hygiene, and safety requirements before usage.
- Regulatory Compliance & Documentation:
- Report monthly and quarterly EHS & HACCP performance metrics to regulatory authorities.
- Keep abreast of changes in EHS and HACCP regulations, updating internal policies, procedures, and documentation accordingly.
- Manage and maintain all HACCP, EHS, and safety-related documentation, including manuals, policies, logs, and inspection reports.
- Certifications & Licensing:
- Coordinate acquisition, renewal, and compliance of all safety, environmental, and HACCP certifications and licenses required for hotel operations.
- Work closely with local health authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Workplace Inspections & Environmental Impact Management:
- Conduct regular workplace inspections to monitor hygiene, sanitation, and environmental impact, implementing necessary corrective actions.
- Develop and oversee programs that reduce environmental impact, food wastage, and improve hotel sustainability practices.
- Budget & Resource Management:
- Develop and oversee the EHS/HACCP budget, ensuring proper allocation of resources for risk assessments, training, and necessary improvements.
- Identify areas for cost-effective improvements without compromising safety and hygiene standards.
- Policy Adherence & Continuous Improvement:
- Ensure adherence to the company’s environmental, health, and safety policies.
- Implement best practices and drive continuous improvements in food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Environmental Health, or a related field.
- Certifications: HACCP (Level 3 or 4), ISO 22000, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, PIC (Person in Charge) certification (preferred).
- Professional training in EHS, food safety management, and quality assurance.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in food safety, hygiene management, or quality control, preferably in the hospitality or food service industry.
- Experience in hotel or restaurant food safety audits and compliance with HACCP and EHS regulations.
- Strong knowledge of UAE food safety and health regulations, including Dubai Municipality, Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA), and other relevant authorities.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety laws, HACCP, ISO standards, and workplace safety guidelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify risks and implement corrective actions.
- Ability to conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments effectively.
- Excellent communication and training skills to educate staff on hygiene and safety practices.
- Proficiency in report writing, documentation, and regulatory compliance submissions.
- Strong leadership and teamwork abilities to coordinate with hotel management and external authorities.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and food safety management systems.
