A leading Healthcare Catering industry is hiring Food Safety & Hygiene Officer with the following :
Responsibilities
- Implement and oversee food safety and hygiene protocols following local regulations and industry standards within healthcare catering facilities.
- Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive food safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of kitchen facilities, equipment, and food handling processes to ensure compliance with hygiene standards.
- Provide training and guidance to kitchen staff on proper food handling, storage, preparation, and sanitation practices.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to investigate and address any food safety concerns or incidents promptly.
- Monitor and evaluate food suppliers to ensure the quality and safety of ingredients and products used in healthcare catering.
- Maintained accurate records of hygiene inspections, staff training, and compliance measures.
- Keep abreast of changes in food safety regulations and best practices, implementing necessary adjustments in protocols as needed.
- Act as a liaison with health authorities and regulatory agencies during inspections and inquiries.
- Implement corrective actions and improvement plans to mitigate risks and enhance food safety standards within the healthcare catering environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Public Health, or a related field.
- Certification in food safety and hygiene (e.g., HACCP, ServSafe, NEHA) is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the healthcare catering industry or food service sector.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, standards, and compliance requirements specific to healthcare settings.
- Strong understanding of microbiology, foodborne illnesses, and sanitation principles.
- Experience developing and implementing food safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to conduct thorough inspections, audits, and risk assessments related to food safety and hygiene.
- Excellent communication skills to train and educate kitchen staff on proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate records, documentation, and reporting related to food safety measures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to food safety incidents or emergencies.
- Up-to-date awareness of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in food safety and hygiene.
