Food Safety Executive –Hospitality Industry is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining food safety and hygiene standards across hotel kitchens, restaurants, and food service outlets. The role ensures full compliance with FSSAI regulations, HACCP principles, and internal quality standards to safeguard food quality, guest safety, and brand reputation.

Job Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor food safety management systems in accordance with HACCP, GMP, and GHP standards.
- Conduct daily hygiene and sanitation inspections in kitchens, stores, and food service areas.
- Ensure compliance with FSSAI regulations, local health authority requirements, and hotel SOPs.
- Monitor food handling, preparation, cooking, storage, and serving practices to prevent contamination.
- Verify temperature controls for cooking, chilling, freezing, hot holding, and cold storage.
- Inspect incoming raw materials and food deliveries for quality, labeling, shelf life, and storage conditions.
- Maintain and review food safety documentation, including logs, checklists, cleaning schedules, and temperature records.
- Identify food safety non-conformities and initiate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Support internal and external food safety audits, inspections, and certifications.
- Conduct food safety and hygiene training for kitchen staff, stewards, and food handlers.
- Monitor pest control activities and ensure effective implementation of pest management programs.
- Investigate food safety complaints, incidents, or suspected foodborne illness cases and prepare reports.
- Coordinate with chefs, kitchen managers, and operations teams to improve food safety performance.
- Ensure compliance with personal hygiene standards, uniform policies, and grooming requirements for food handlers.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Food Technology, Food Science, Hotel Management, Microbiology, or a related field.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Food Safety Executive / Hygiene Officer / Food Safety Officer in the hospitality industry (hotel, restaurant, catering, or QSR).
- Strong knowledge of FSSAI regulations, HACCP, GMP, GHP, and food hygiene practices.
- Experience in conducting hygiene audits and food safety inspections.
- Good understanding of kitchen operations and food service workflows.
- Ability to train and communicate effectively with kitchen and service staff.
- Strong documentation, reporting, and record-keeping skills.
- Attention to detail with a proactive approach to identifying food safety risks.
- Good communication skills in English and Malayalam (additional languages are an advantage).
- Willingness to work flexible shifts as required in hospitality operations.
