A Flight Catering company in Dubai UAE, is looking for a Food Safety Assistant with the following:

Job Responsibilities

  1. Monitoring Raw Food Safety:
    • Verify the safety of raw food ingredients by checking and recording defrosted product temperatures to ensure compliance with defined standards.
  2. Receiving Temperature Checks:
    • Inspect and confirm that the temperature of raw materials upon receipt meets the pre-established food safety criteria.
  3. Monitoring During Portioning and Tray Setting:
    • Monitor and document food temperatures during portioning operations, as food transitions from Production to the Catering Department, and throughout tray-setting processes to maintain safe handling conditions.
  4. Cooked Food Safety Assurance:
    • Oversee the safety of cooked food by checking and recording the cooking times, blast chilling times, and temperature controls for First, Business, Economy Class, and Special Meals.
    • Ensure accurate time and temperature monitoring during food portioning, tray setting, dispatching, and aircraft loading.
  5. Water Quality Monitoring:
    • Perform daily monitoring of chlorine levels in the water supply, ensuring it consistently remains within safe and acceptable limits.
  6. Staff Hygiene Inspections:
    • Conduct inspections of staff appearance and grooming, reporting any deviations from established hygiene and grooming standards to the Food Safety Officer.
  7. Catering Equipment Sanitation:
    • Ensure the effective disinfection of catering equipment by monitoring and verifying that dishwashing machines achieve the required hot water temperatures for sanitation.
  8. Laboratory Glassware Sterilization:
    • Maintain the cleanliness and proper sterilization of laboratory glassware used for analytical testing, ensuring accurate and uncontaminated results.
  9. Quality System Compliance:
    • Adhere to the EKFC Quality Policy and Quality System, developed in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
    • Execute all duties in compliance with departmental work procedures, ensuring the delivery of services that reflect the company’s commitment to quality and food safety.
  10. conducting essential tests, scheduled inspections, and ongoing monitoring to ensure that all food products manufactured at the facility meet stringent safety and quality standards. The objective is to guarantee that all food produced is safe for consumption.

Job Qualifications

  • Completion of O-Level or A-Level education or an equivalent qualification (Mandatory).
  • Intermediate level certification in Food Hygiene & Safety, including minimum on-the-job training and completion of mandatory training (Mandatory).
  • A background in Science is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ general experience in a food production environment, in a similar position.
  • Area of Expertise: Solid understanding and practical experience in Food Hygiene & Safety principles and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English.
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team, with strong organizational skills to independently manage workload and responsibilities.
