A foodstuff trading and food distribution company in Dubai UAE is looking for a Food Safety and Quality supervisor with the following:
Job Responsibilities
- Analyze and address potential causes of product defects and quality lapses.
- Investigate process deviations that could impact the overall quality of processes and products.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) that comply with regulatory requirements, industry guidelines, and company policies.
- Establish SOPs for handling and storing products in the warehouse.
- Implement strategies and plans to ensure the provision of safe food products.
- Conduct internal audits and inspect facilities, equipment, and products to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead quality and food safety audits.
- Oversee traceability investigations to identify sources of quality issues and product defects.
- Supervise the implementation and documentation of corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) with other departments.
- Notify the department of CAPA requirements and ensure timely completion and documentation.
- Participate in quality management system reviews and promote food safety policies throughout the organization.
- Provide training to warehouse staff on personal hygiene, food product handling, and health and safety practices.
- Lead annual management review meetings.
- Review reports and develop guidelines for data documentation and analysis.
- Solve moderately complex issues independently, escalating complex matters to senior staff as necessary.
- Address quality-related issues with suppliers and collaborate on long-term solutions.
- Conduct supplier evaluations and audits, ensuring proper documentation is kept in line with supplier assessments.
- Calculate nutritional facts of products based on Daily Value (DV) for the required %DV.
- Provide guidance for market returns, ensuring quality checks before products are returned to stock.
- Conduct various quality analyses for products.
- Compare product quality with competitors and work with suppliers to improve quality standards.
- Inspect and verify expired products as per warehouse inventory reports.
Job Qualifications
- Gender: Male.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in the food products industry.
- Languages: Proficient in both English and Arabic (Mandatory).
- Certifications: HACCP warehouse certification or demonstrated knowledge and experience in HACCP principles.
- Technical Skills: Proven experience in physical, biological, and chemical testing for food products.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of GSO standards for food products and regulations.
- Leadership: Ability to lead audits and manage corrective actions across departments.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze product quality and process deviations.
- Communication: Effective communication skills for cross-department collaboration and staff training.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure strict adherence to quality standards and regulatory compliance.
