As a Food Quality Assurance Officer at Dallas airline catering unit, you will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and safety of meals served to millions of passengers each year. You will be responsible for overseeing food safety procedures, conducting inspections, leading quality audits, and ensuring all operations comply with FDA, USDA, and airline-specific requirements.

Job Responsibilities

Food Safety & Quality Compliance

  • Implement and monitor food safety systems including HACCP, GMP, and SSOP protocols in the airline catering Dallas facility.
  • Ensure all production processes align with FDA, USDA, and airline-specific standards.
  • Conduct routine internal inspections, hygiene audits, and product sampling to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for quality records, deviations, non-conformities, and corrective actions.

Operational Oversight

  • Supervise daily quality control activities across production and kitchen areas.
  • Coordinate with the culinary and operations teams to resolve quality-related issues in real-time.
  • Participate in the validation and verification of cleaning and sanitation processes.
  • Ensure allergen controls and traceability systems are effectively implemented.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Guide, train, and mentor food handlers and production staff on food safety best practices.
  • Lead daily quality huddles and communicate any updates regarding food safety regulations or internal procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing trends, identifying root causes, and recommending preventive measures.

Audit Readiness

  • Prepare the facility for airline audits, customer inspections, and regulatory assessments.
  • Lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes in response to internal and external audit findings.
  • Actively support Lean Manufacturing, Safety, and Quality Management Systems (QMS) within the unit.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Food Technology, or related discipline preferred.
  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience in quality assurance or food safety within the food processing or catering industry, preferably in airline catering.
  • Strong understanding of FDA, USDA, HACCP, and other regulatory frameworks relevant to airline catering in Dallas.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP or QMS software is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure in a high-volume production environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
