Food Quality Assurance – Senior Executive vacancy with a leading Food and Nutraceutical company in Kochi, Kerala, India, to strengthen QA operations and uphold world-class quality and food safety standards across manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, hands-on experience in food manufacturing QA, and an in-depth understanding of industry regulations and audit requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve QA policies, procedures, and quality management systems.
- Ensure alignment of QA systems with global standards such as ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, GMP, and GHP.
- Maintain robust monitoring mechanisms to ensure compliance with internal and external quality benchmarks.
Ensure full compliance with national and international food safety regulations, including FSSAI, USFDA, FDA, and other relevant statutory bodies.Stay updated with regulatory changes and implement necessary modifications in QA operations.Conduct regular GMP, GHP, and hygiene audits across production and processing areas.Facilitate internal and external audits, including certification audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.Prepare detailed audit reports and oversee corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Oversee the creation, revision, and control of SOPs, work instructions, QA manuals, and batch production records.Maintain accurate QA logs, testing reports, calibration records, and regulatory documentation.Ensure traceability and document integrity in line with QMS requirements.
- Monitor manufacturing processes, in-process checks, and handling practices to ensure consistent product quality.
- Review batch manufacturing records (BMRs/BPRs) and ensure all activities comply with predefined specifications.
- Identify deviations, investigate quality issues, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Work closely with Production, R&D, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to address quality concerns.
- Train staff on GMP, GHP, hygiene practices, documentation, and food safety procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote a culture of quality throughout the organization.
Job Qualifications
Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Quality Assurance within food manufacturing, preferably in a fast-paced or large-scale production environment.B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or an equivalent technical discipline.Candidates holding food safety certifications such as HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, or Internal Auditor certificates (advantageous).
- Proven experience in the food manufacturing industry, specifically in a Quality Assurance role.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, GHP, HACCP principles, and quality systems implementation.
- Solid understanding of ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, and QMS documentation.
- Familiarity with key regulatory frameworks including FSSAI, USFDA, and FDA guidelines.
- Excellent documentation, record-keeping, audit management, and analytical skills.
- Ability to identify quality gaps, conduct root cause analysis, and drive CAPA.
- Good communication, interpersonal abilities, and capability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to maintaining the highest levels of product safety and quality.
