Food Microbiologist – Dubai vacancy at a leading Airline Catering company in Dubai, UAE, is looking for a Food Microbiologist with the following microbiological education and expertise:
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct Routine Microbiological Testing
Perform microbiological analysis on finished food products, potable water, raw materials, ice, environmental swabs, equipment swabs, air samples, and hand swabs as per the approved schedule to ensure Food Point maintains a safe and hygienic production environment. - Microbiological Verification & Compliance
Support the Food Safety Manager in designing, implementing, and maintaining microbiological verification programs in alignment with BRCGS, YUM standards, Dubai Municipality regulations, and other relevant food safety standards. - Develop Laboratory SOPs & Policies
Prepare, update, and enforce microbiological testing SOPs, safety protocols, work instructions, and laboratory procedures to maintain compliance with ISO standards and international microbiological testing methodologies. - Maintain Laboratory Integrity & Standardization
Ensure all microbiological analysis methods meet validated and internationally recognized standards. Update test procedures regularly to reflect new regulations, best practices, and technological advancements.
- Deviation Reporting & Corrective Actions
Identify deviations from microbiological and food safety standards. Provide timely recommendations to the Food Safety Manager to initiate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to ensure continuous compliance. - Inventory & Resource Management
Monitor and maintain adequate inventory of laboratory consumables, reagents, media, and disposables to avoid interruptions in testing and ensure uninterrupted laboratory operations. - Equipment Calibration & Quality Compliance
Conduct routine calibration, verification, and maintenance of laboratory equipment. Ensure compliance with EKFC Quality Management System, GLP (Good Laboratory Practices), and statutory requirements. - Internal Audits & GMP Verification
Conduct internal audits related to GMP, hygiene practices, and BRCGS requirements to verify compliance with the Food Safety Management System. - Third-Party Testing & Shelf-Life Studies
Coordinate third-party lab evaluations, conduct retention sampling programs, perform shelf-life studies, and ensure safe disposal of microbiological waste in accordance with food safety and environmental protocols. - Reporting & Trend Analysis
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly test reports, including sample numbers, analytical results, data summaries, and trend analysis. Provide insights to enhance food safety controls, regulatory compliance, and process improvements as Food Microbiologist – Dubai. - Team Coaching & Performance Review
Guide, train, and evaluate laboratory technicians to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and consistent adherence to testing protocols and safety standards.
Food Microbiologist – Dubai UAE
- Managing microbiological testing of an average of 80–100 samples per day.
- Ensuring safe and timely release of finished goods based on accurate microbiological evaluation.
- Working closely with the Food Safety Manager to uphold the highest standards of food hygiene and safety.
- Safeguarding the integrity of all food products through rigorous testing of water, ice, surfaces, hands, equipment, and environmental samples.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology.
- Certifications in ISO 17025, HACCP, BRCGS, or related food safety systems (preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of analytical experience in a microbiology testing laboratory.
- Hands-on experience in a food manufacturing or catering environment, with strong knowledge of GMP processes, hygiene practices, and related documentation.
- Practical experience working with microbiology laboratory equipment, GLP standards, and laboratory documentation systems.
- Experience in method validation, cleaning validation, sterility testing, and aseptic techniques.
