A leading Water and Food Testing Laboratory, Malappuram – Kerala – Govt-approved, MSME-certified, and ISO ISO-certified laboratory is hiring a passionate and skilled Food Microbiologist to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work on advanced microbiological testing and analysis to ensure food safety, quality, and compliance with regulatory standards.

You will be responsible for conducting microbiological examinations, analysing results, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting training and project activities. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong academic background and hands-on industry experience in microbiology.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct microbiological testing and analysis of food, water, and related samples in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform food quality testing, shelf-life studies, and nutritional value analysis.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
  • Document test results, prepare detailed reports, and communicate findings with accuracy and clarity.
  • Support compliance with ISO, NABL, and other relevant quality management standards.
  • Provide training sessions on microbiological practices, food safety, and laboratory techniques.
  • Collaborate with internal teams for research projects, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to good laboratory practices (GLP), hygiene protocols, and safety standards at all times.

Job Qualifications

  • Qualification: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Microbiology, Food Microbiology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in microbiology testing, preferably in food and water analysis laboratories.
  • Expertise: Strong knowledge of food safety testing, compliance, and reporting.
  • Skills:
    • Familiarity with microbiology standards and regulatory guidelines.
    • Competence in handling and maintaining laboratory equipment.
    • Experience in shelf-life studies, nutritional analysis, and training.
    • Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
