Lab Technician oppurtunity for leading Food Flavours Industry in Chennai, India – supporting the Quality Master Data Management (QMDM) function, you will play a critical role in ensuring that product master data, quality documentation, and compliance records are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with global standards.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across flavors, ingredients, R&D, manufacturing, regulatory, and supply chain departments to support seamless product development, customer requirements, and international product launches.
Job Responsibilities
1. Quality Documentation & Master Data Accuracy
- Translate customer quality requirements into detailed product specifications, SOPs, and digital master data records.
- Maintain and update quality master data in SAP ERP (QM module).
- Ensure accurate documentation related to food flavours, ingredients, and formulations.
2. Support for Global Product Launches
- Set up quality master data for new raw materials, finished products, and formulations across multiple manufacturing sites.
- Coordinate with R&D and manufacturing teams to ensure proper data alignment.
3. Regulatory & Compliance Management
- Prepare and validate regulatory documentation, tariff codes, TTB permits, and compliance statements.
- Manage religious declarations (Halal, Kosher, etc.) and customer-specific compliance requests.
- Ensure alignment with global food safety standards and sustainability documentation.
4. Customer Quality Support
- Act as the subject matter expert for customer queries related to quality master data.
- Provide accurate quality statements, certifications, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure a seamless customer experience through reliable and compliant data management.
5. Continuous Improvement & Risk Mitigation
- Participate in cross-functional quality improvement initiatives.
- Identify gaps in master data workflows and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain high standards of data accuracy to prevent regulatory or operational risks.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related discipline.
- 3–4 years of experience in Quality Assurance within the food flavours or ingredients industry.
- Experience in global master data processes and multi-site product management.
- Exposure to food safety standards, regulatory compliance, and sustainability documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Solid understanding of master data management principles.
- Hands-on experience with SAP ERP (QM Module) and material master workflows.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, data analysis tools).
- Experience in quality documentation, food safety systems, and compliance records.
- Excellent attention to detail and process-oriented mindset.
- Ability to coordinate projects and work with cross-functional teams.
- Experience handling religious compliance statements and tariff classifications.
