A leading FMCG Company in Kerala , India is looking for a Food- Lab Technician with the following:
Job Responsibilities
- Apply technical knowledge to accurately interpret laboratory test results for wheat and flour quality.
- Conduct routine physical, chemical, and microbiological tests on wheat grains, flour samples, and finished products.
- Monitor and analyze critical flour quality parameters such as moisture content, gluten strength, protein level, ash content, falling number, and microbial load.
- Ensure that all testing procedures comply with FSSAI regulations, ISO standards, and internal quality guidelines.
- Maintain detailed records of laboratory analyses, prepare daily and weekly reports, and share findings with management and production teams.
- Collaborate with the milling team to adjust wheat blends and optimize flour grades based on lab results and quality targets.
- Assist during internal and external audits by providing complete and accurate laboratory documentation and supporting evidence.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Identify requirements for lab equipment and consumables, prepare budget proposals, and monitor expenses for laboratory operations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality and efficiency of flour production processes.
Job Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Food Technology, Cereal Science, or related fields.
- A laboratory experience at a flour mill or a qualification from CFTRI is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of cereal chemistry and flour quality parameters.
- Knowledge of FSSAI, ISO, and HACCP standards and practices.
- Excellent analytical, record-keeping, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with production and quality teams.
