Food Hygiene & Safety Coordinator to support and strengthen food safety management systems across hospitality and food & beverage operations in Dubai. The role focuses on ensuring full compliance with Dubai Municipality, ADAFSA, HACCP, and ISO 22000 requirements while maintaining industry-leading food hygiene and safety standards. This position plays a critical role in preventing food safety incidents, supporting audits, coordinating internal departments, and overseeing hygiene practices across kitchens, catering operations, and large-scale events.

Job Responsibilities
Food Hygiene & Safety Management
- Support Food Hygiene & Safety Management in developing cost-effective, user-friendly food safety and hygiene innovations across central kitchens (CPK, LPK) and all food & beverage outlets.
- Ensure continuous improvement of food hygiene, food safety systems, and best practices to maintain market leadership in food safety standards.
Regulatory & Legal Compliance
- Coordinate with internal departments to maintain statutory documentation required by Dubai Municipality, ADAFSA, and other UAE regulatory authorities.
- Ensure full legal compliance with local food safety laws, municipal regulations, and hospitality industry standards.
- Submit Mass Catering notifications to Dubai Municipality prior to events to ensure regulatory approval and compliance.
Operational Food Safety Oversight
- Supervise food hygiene and safety throughout the entire food chain, including Purchasing, Receiving, Storage, Sanitation, Food Preparation, Production, Service, and Consumption.
- Monitor daily operations to ensure compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000, and UAE food safety regulations, minimizing the risk of foodborne illnesses.
Supplier & Internal Audits
- Support and conduct supplier food safety audits in coordination with the Purchase Department as per management requirements.
- Assist in preparing audit documentation and corrective action plans based on audit findings.
Training & Awareness
- Support Hygiene Management in delivering internal food hygiene and food safety training programs.
- Conduct fortnightly on-the-job training for food handlers based on internal audit findings and non-conformities.
Equipment Calibration
- Perform periodic internal calibration of kitchen equipment, chillers, freezers, and thermometers to meet HACCP and ISO 22000 requirements.
- Maintain accurate food safety records, logs, and reports for inspections and audits.
Occupational Health & Food Handler Compliance
- Maintain and monitor Occupational Health Card records for all food handlers in coordination with the HR department.
- Ensure food handlers comply with UAE occupational health and hygiene requirements.
Customer Complaints & Incident Management
- Handle food safety and hygiene-related customer complaints, conduct investigations under management guidance, and submit detailed reports.
- Update customer complaint logs and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Events & External Operations
- Cover external food and beverage outlets, including Community Development Centres, Za’abeel Ladies Club, Lisialli Wedding Hall, and supplier locations.
- Support major national and international events such as Formula 1 (F1), Airshow, MEBA, indoor and outdoor catering events, weddings, and banquets across all 7 Emirates of the UAE.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as required by event operations.
- Predominantly office-based and kitchen-based role, with extended computer work as needed.
- Requires site visits, inspections, audits, and participation in external catering and hospitality events.
Job Qualifications
- Diploma in Microbiology, Food Science, Biotechnology, or Life Sciences (mandatory).
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc / B.Tech) in Food Technology, Food Hygiene, or Microbiology is a strong advantage.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Food Safety, Quality Assurance, or Hygiene roles within:
- 5-Star Hotels
- Hospitality Industry
- Catering Companies
- Food Manufacturing Facilities
- Experience in Convention and Exhibition Centres in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of UAE food safety regulations, Dubai Municipality guidelines, and ADAFSA requirements.
- Working knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, and food hygiene systems.
- Proficient in MS Office (Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with online audit and compliance systems is an added advantage.
