A leading Restaurant Group in Dubai, UAE is looking for a Food Hygiene Officer with the following:

Job Responsibilites

1. Food Safety Compliance

  • Ensure all food handling, preparation, and storage processes comply with HACCP, Dubai Municipality, and international food safety standards.
  • Conduct regular food safety audits and hygiene inspections across all outlets.
  • Implement and maintain Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS).
  • Investigate and resolve hygiene-related non-compliance issues.

2. Employee Hygiene & Personal Safety

  • Monitor employee hygiene and food handling practices in all food production areas.
  • Enforce proper handwashing, use of protective clothing, and hygiene protocols.
  • Conduct regular training sessions on food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Address hygiene-related complaints and non-compliance through corrective actions.

3. Shop Hygiene & Cleanliness

  • Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules for food preparation and service areas.
  • Ensure proper and safe use of cleaning chemicals, sanitizers, and disinfectants.
  • Conduct inspections to verify the effectiveness of pest control measures.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to keep kitchen equipment and facilities in sanitary condition.

4. Waste Management & Sustainability

  • Develop and implement waste reduction and segregation initiatives.
  • Monitor food waste, packaging waste, and recycling efforts to align with sustainability goals.
  • Ensure proper disposal of expired or contaminated food items in compliance with regulations.
  • Promote eco-friendly food sourcing and sustainable packaging practices.

5. Compliance & Reporting

  • Maintain detailed records of hygiene inspections, audits, and training sessions.
  • Prepare reports on hygiene performance, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory bodies such as Dubai Municipality and the Food Safety Department.
  • Assist in external audits and certification processes related to food safety and sustainability.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Food Safety, Public Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • HACCP Certification (Level 3 or higher) is highly preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in food safety, hygiene management, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 22000, HACCP, and Dubai Municipality food safety regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and auditing skills.
  • Strong communication and training abilities to educate staff.
  • Ability to work independently and conduct compliance inspections.
