Seeking a passionate and skilled Food Development Engineer to join Research & Development (R&D) team. This role is integral in driving innovation, developing new product formulations, and scaling up processes from laboratory trials to full-scale manufacturing. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, sales, and marketing to ensure product success from concept to market launch.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and optimize new food product formulations in line with market trends, consumer preferences, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct pilot trials and successfully scale up new products from lab-scale development to commercial production.
- Ensure compliance with international and regional food safety and quality standards, including HACCP, ISO, and GSO regulations.
- Carry out sensory evaluations, shelf-life studies, and stability testing for product validation.
- Provide technical expertise and support to the marketing and sales teams for product positioning, promotional materials, and customer presentations.
- Drive process improvements and cost optimization initiatives without compromising on quality and safety.
- Collaborate with suppliers, packaging teams, and regulatory bodies for ingredient sourcing, approval, and compliance.
- Document product development processes, formulations, and trial results in a structured and detailed manner.
- Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and competitor innovations to inspire continuous development.
Job Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or related discipline (Bachelor’s degree with strong experience will also be considered).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in food R&D, product development, or formulation, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of product formulation, food processing technologies, sensory evaluation techniques, and safety compliance.
- Familiarity with HACCP, ISO, GSO, and other relevant food safety standards.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a structured approach to innovation and troubleshooting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Passion for food innovation, creativity, and a proactive mindset.
