Ferrero is hiring a Ferrero-Food Safety Compliance Technician for Kentucky USA location with the following:
Job Responsibilities
- 1. Food Safety Plan Management:
- Lead the annual review and continuous improvement of the facility’s Food Safety Plans to ensure compliance with Ferrero corporate requirements and regulatory standards of Ferrero.(e.g., FDA, FSMA).
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to implement necessary updates and modifications to food safety documentation.
- 2. GMP Implementation & Audit Support:
- Provide ongoing support in the implementation and enforcement of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) across the facility.
- Assist with preparation for internal and third-party audits by ensuring food safety systems are in compliance and audit-ready.
- Act as a liaison during audits and inspections, providing documentation and answering food safety-related queries.
- 3. Documentation and Records Management:
- Manage and maintain accurate and organized food safety records and controlled documents, including SOPs, checklists, and monitoring logs.
- Ensure version control and accessibility of documents across relevant departments.
- 4. Foreign Material and Physical Hazard Control:
- Monitor the completion and effectiveness of glass, wood, and plastic control checks throughout the facility.
- Ensure any findings are addressed with timely corrective actions and proper documentation.
- Lead investigations into foreign body incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.

- 5. Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) Management:
- Support and coordinate root cause investigations for food safety deviations, non-conformities, and audit findings.
- Track and manage CAPAs, ensuring effective resolution and follow-up to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- 6. On-Floor Compliance Support:
- Provide hands-on support to production and sanitation teams to ensure daily operations are conducted in alignment with food safety procedures.
- Conduct routine floor inspections and provide coaching or corrective guidance to operators as needed.
7. Audit Program Support:
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and executing internal food safety audits.
- Support the coordination and documentation of third-party and regulatory audits.
- 8. KPI Monitoring and Trending:
- Assist in tracking key food safety performance indicators.
- Analyze data trends to identify opportunities for proactive risk mitigation and process improvement.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree or higher in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of relevant work experience in a food manufacturing environment, with a focus on food safety or quality assurance.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to apply basic statistical tools and perform data trend analysis.
- Familiarity with regulatory documentation and food safety terminology.
- Practical understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls (HARPC).
- Experience working in a certified food safety management system (e.g., HACCP, SQF, FSSC 22000).
- PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) certification.
- Working knowledge of audit procedures and third-party certification standards.
